SolvIT, Inc. is seeking a Vehicle Diagnostics & ECU Specialist to join our automotive technical team in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

In this role, you will apply your knowledge of automotive diagnostic systems and vehicle electronics to support ECU programming processes and dealership service operations. You will work with specialized diagnostic software to develop guided flash procedures that help dealership technicians complete vehicle service actions accurately and efficiently.

Position Overview & Key Responsibilities

As part of our Diagnostic Flash team, you will support the development of guided ECU flash procedures used in dealership service operations. Your work will help ensure technicians have clear, accurate programming instructions when completing applicable vehicle service actions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and defining processes for creating ECU flash scripts using wiTECH Studio.

• Authoring flash scripts for existing vehicle service actions

• Creating flash scripts for new service actions as needed.

• Supporting the development of guided programming procedures that help dealership technicians successfully complete required service actions.

Qualifications & Skills:

We're looking for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and working with automotive technology. The ideal candidate will possess:

• 2 years of experience with diagnostic scan tools

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

• The ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate with team members.

• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience & Technical Knowledge

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

Automotive Diagnostics & Programming

• Understanding of ECU reprogramming procedures.

• Experience working with automotive diagnostic scan tools; five or more years preferred.

• Familiarity with vehicle electrical architectures.

• Knowledge of automotive service action development processes and authoring tools.

• Previous experience in a dealership service department or automotive repair environment.

Vehicle Communication Systems

• Knowledge of automotive communication systems, including CAN, J1850, and K-Line.

• Familiarity with diagnostic communication protocols, such as KWP2000 and UDS.

Technical Tools & Education

• Experience with Vector diagnostic tools, including CANalyzer and CANdela.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• This position is performed onsite in a professional office environment using standard office equipment.

• Work is primarily sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, and carrying of lightweight objects.

• Regular communication with internal team members, service providers, and external partners is required.

• Occasional business travel and assignments outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, may be necessary.
