DAYS/HOURS:     Monday – Friday. Standard business hours.

LOCATION:           2831 Research Drive, Rochester Hills, MI 48309

This position is required to report to the office 3 days a week, subject to change based on business needs.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Diagnostic Systems Readiness Analyst to support the readiness of diagnostic tools and systems used across Aftermarket and Fleet operations. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll work with OEM diagnostic support teams, regional stakeholders, and engineering groups to ensure timely, accurate information sharing and project alignment. Your work will directly impact the quality, functionality, and deployment of diagnostic solutions for current and future vehicle technologies.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead activities related to Engineering Research and Development (ER&D) cost estimations for diagnostic tools and systems support, including submission management, approval tracking, and follow-ups.

  • Maintain the ER&D summary sheet and distribute the quarterly cross-charge report to the finance team.

  • Lead weekly Diagnostic Projects Review meetings, publish meeting minutes, and manage the tracking sheet to ensure timely follow-ups on action items.

  • Coordinate with regional Diagnostic Tool and Service Information leads to track and report vehicle program readiness.

  • Gather information on new vehicles and emerging vehicle technologies from internal systems such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Global Bulletin System (GBS), Engineering Portal, PLM, and DocINFO, as well as by attending relevant meetings (e.g., PMT, Electrical Engineering meetings).

  • Facilitate awareness among regional teams regarding upcoming vehicle programs and technologies, with a focus on diagnostic impact.

  • Lead the bi-weekly New Vehicle Awareness (NVA) meeting.

  • Support the Diagnostic Tools Support & Quality Manager on various process convergence and alignment initiatives.

What Makes You Qualified:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and vehicle diagnostics involving electronic control units (ECUs).

  • Familiarity with OEM diagnostic tools and related software platforms.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across teams and with external partners.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on tasks independently.

 

What Makes You an All-Star:

  • Knowledge of automotive communication systems such as CAN, J1850, K-Line, and protocols like UDS and KWP2000.

  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems and basic scripting or programming experience.

  • Prior hands-on experience as a dealership technician, particularly at an OEM-affiliated dealership.

  • Experience using Jira or other issue/ticket-tracking systems.

  • Previous involvement in cross-functional or customer-facing technical support roles.

 

Can you meet these physical demands?

  • A set work schedule will be provided, but some flexibility is required as hours may vary due to need

  • Attending training on non-scheduled hours may be required periodically with advanced notice

  • Physical demands:  Non-strenuous with low risk; primarily sedentary with some walking, standing, and carrying of light objects; Adequately lighted, ventilated and climate-controlled area where normal precautions must be observed

  • Work environment: Work is generally performed within a normal office environment using standard office equipment; Moderate noise typical of a business office; Travel for company business may be required to attend off-site meetings, etc; May require early morning, night and weekend work assignments; Interaction with contracted providers, staff and vendors by phone and face-to-face will be constant and may be disruptive: Work may be stressful at times.
